伍佰最近鍾愛「台客」話題，不但自稱「台客」，還呼朋引伴推廣台客文化一同舉辦「台客搖滾演唱會」，要讓「台客文化」在台灣形成風潮。伍佰說：「有很多人不敢面對台客這個稱呼，好像被人家叫台客，就代表『聳』跟『土』一樣，其實我們住在台灣叫台客是很自然的事情，就好像紐約客、港仔的稱呼一樣，而且台灣一直沒有超越語言、族群的文化，所以我想找一群志同道合的朋友，共同來推動台客流行文化。」
